Eighteen systems, five of them patented, that decide what a Kumpoo frame does in the half-second you have to answer a shot. Here is the whole library, starting with the four you will find in the frames we are selling now.

01 — Shaft

Hexagon shaft

An inverted hexagonal cone at the T-joint moves the flex point of the shaft forward, so the head snaps back sooner. It also braces the bottom of the shaft against twist, cutting the deformation angle by 7.5% against a conventional round section.

02 — Front cap

Pliers technology

A full-carbon front cap shaped like a pair of pliers, closing on the shaft instead of sleeving over it. Contact area between cap and shaft rises by 25% and anti-torsion by 40%, which is what holds the face square when the string bed is loaded off-centre.

Kumpoo shock absorption system

03 — Frame

Shock absorption system

Polyurethane is injected into the frame and cured, then cooled, until it sets as a sponge inside the carbon. It takes the sting out of contact and keeps it out of the forearm over a long match, without the dead feel of a softer lay-up.

04 — Shaft

Inner foaming shaft

PU foam is expanded inside the shaft rather than heat-moulded around it, which leaves the carbon structure smoother than traditional moulding allows. Torsional resistance goes up by 10%, power transfer smooths out, and the foam damps what the frame sends back to the hand.

Dual stiffness shaft

Two different stiffnesses on opposite sides of the same shaft, so one frame answers differently in attack and in defence depending on how it is turned in the hand.

Energy cored shaft

A specially processed core is implanted into the cavity of the shaft, where it absorbs the shock coming down from the frame before it reaches the grip.

Kumpoo super fine shaft

Super fine shaft

Kumpoo shafts step down through 6.6, 6.5, 6.3 and 6.1 mm. Every millimetre out of the diameter is less air to push through the swing, and a shaft that loads and returns faster: the Asura II runs 6.15 mm, the Hyper Shot Wind 6.8 mm.

Built-in titanium wire

Three memory titanium wires, laid with super-high-modulus carbon yarn. Titanium is light and very strong, and here it lifts both the rebound speed of the shaft and the frame's resistance to twist.

Kumpoo golf shaft

Golf shaft

Built with Fujikura, Japan's most established golf shaft maker. Holding the inner and outer diameters constant while changing the lay-up lets the bending point be moved to order, so one platform can serve very different players.

Spiral frame

Inner and outer walls of the head flow in opposite directions. Above 3 and 9 o'clock a concave trapezoid cuts wind resistance for swing speed; below them an inverted triangle holds the structure steady through contact.

Energy collecting and balance system

Set at 3 and 9 o'clock, it controls how quickly the head resets and suppresses shake across the face, so the second shot of an exchange goes back faster and lands where the first one did.

Graphene technology

Stable graphene particles worked into the high-modulus carbon of the frame. The result is the HOUYI series: comfortable at 35 lb, with excellent anti-torsion.

Kevlar material

Bulletproof fibre in the frame, which is where the KEVLARMOR series gets its name. The stronger frame takes higher tension than the carbon alone would allow.

Woven carbon fabric, a high-end process that holds its shape at the moment of impact and leaves the frame with a raised, patterned surface.

Tougher, lighter and more durable than a wooden handle, and it does not soak up sweat. The feedback through it is cleaner, which is why the 8U frames use one.

Chameleon paint

A finish that shifts colour with the angle it is seen from and the light it is under. The Hyper Shot Wind is painted this way.

EAN anti-fake technology

A unique ID chip built into the butt cap, hard to copy and hard to tamper with. Hold a phone with NFC against the cap and the frame confirms it is ours.

What the numbers on every Kumpoo frame actually mean for the way it plays.

Weight (U scale)

3U is roughly 85–89 g, 4U is 80–84 g, 5U is 75–79 g — and it keeps going: the 10U frame is 54 g. Lower numbers are heavier. Heavier frames carry more momentum; lighter frames recover faster.

Grip size (G scale)

G5 is our standard adult size, G6 is slimmer. An overgrip adds roughly half a size, so most players who add one should start at G6.

String tension

Lower tension gives more power and forgiveness; higher tension gives control at the cost of margin. Most club players sit best between 22 and 26 lb.

Shaft stiffness

Quoted in millimetres of deflection: the lower the number, the stiffer the shaft. A flexible shaft loads with less arm speed and suits developing technique; a stiff one rewards a fast, well-timed swing.
